Dot NAME Domain Names

Launched in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level extension is the single TLD meant for personal web pages only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to obtain john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased 3rd-level domain names remained online.

You will be able to correct the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer key from the current registrar and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been done. There are no particular conditions on who can book a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
